working ...working...and working

Apr. 10th, 2007 | 09:52 pm

So, my holiday started since March 19th. Till today, I've been working very hard on 2 jobs trying to save money as much as i could.

I have to say that i planned it very well.  Though I enjoy working at Market facilities, but it is normally closed during public holiday. Therefore, i had to plan ahead so that i would get money in more or less the same as past months.

I managed to work at Zara during bank holiday. Thankfully, we got new manager who is a kiwi guy and he is nice to me.  Working at Zara turns out good fun these days.  And it's double pay during bank holiday as well.

The other good thing working at Zara is..we tend to get some freebies..they might call it faulty good..but it looks perfectly fine to me (apart from a few scratches).  For example, i got a big candle costing about 15 quids home, soap dispenser (10 quids), ceramic photo frames (15 quids), etc.

So now i am really looking forward to moving to my own place at the end of May.  Then, i could start to feel like home. Hopefully, things are going as planned, I'm just worried that Aero might not get an offer..but i will try my best to talk to the course director for her when the school starts (19th).   I now keep having the pictures of my aunt, and cousins coming to visit me in December..then we could have little party in my new flat .. really look forward to it :)

Jude Law

Mar. 29th, 2007 | 09:33 pm

Got a short course of digital photograpy this easter holiday since icouldn't go back home.
went out to take pictures on southbank and on the way to work spotted the crew filming movie and next
right in front of me was Jude Law standing and looking at me while i made a surprising face.

I decided to stay on and saw the shooting the movie in this fish market.
This is what i like about london..always some surprises even in the ordinary place.

What a shitty start of the year

Jan. 2nd, 2007 | 10:49 pm

I couldn't believe that i forgot my project on the tube on the way back home. and i couldn't recall which line i left it on.

So i went to report the lost & found office ..told them it was either Northen Line or Jubilee Line.   So far,  they haven't found
it.  I am totally wrecked. and i didn't even have a mood to redo it..and some of it was so difficult to redo, especially sketching at
Wallace Collection for 4 days due to photograph prohibited.

Now, i have no idea what i 'm gonna hand it in when the term starts :( ..really wanna cry

it's only been 2 days of 2007....and it didn't seem to be a bright to me.

But it's gonna be brighter

Oh Happy Day

Oct. 7th, 2006 | 11:21 am

had been worried about looking for a second job as the first one only 2 days a week. and yes i will keep that job cos it's easy and it pays ok.

Went to one of the massage place owned by thai late-40-guy who is gay. It didn't turn out good cos he didn't know how to manage people. the day i turned up, there were like 15 masseurs waiting at the back.and i ended up waiting till 11:00 pm to get 15 pounds.
I will not go back there until they sort out the timetable properly.

However, i finally got another job. Went out for interview for 2 hours and store manager offered me a job straight away. She said she'd never done 2 hour interview before. And it's Zara store. No, it's not Zara Clothing though. it's ZARA HOME section. Located at Regent Street ,opposite of Zara Clothing. I think i will be good at it and it benefits my interior design skill as well. On top of this, i will get discount on the stuffs there. So, i will be working Sat - Sun there. If u pop up, don't forget to come and say hi.

UNI Day 2

Sep. 22nd, 2006 | 01:37 pm

now it's lunch break..Day 2... no formal teaching yet apart from Induction of general stuffs (ie. formality, health & safety).

had worked for 2 night already...it was quite late coming back home last night.  I really do like the job though.

Anyway, got a call earlier that next week i will only be needed on wednesday. totally gutted but better not be so demanding but nice. :)

still looking for freelance masssage job though.  have business cards printed at www.vistaprints.co.uk. it should be here in a week.  then i will
start distributing it.

Now i just keep thinking about next year tuition fee and how i should manage my money for the course. obviously..i do need to save money at least
600 pounds a month for 12 months. that means..with this job and uncertain allocation of work, i will need to find another job soon.   Hope it works out
in the end.

Friday now, looking forward to a drink at soho after class.  I deserve it!!!

London (PG) 1

Sep. 19th, 2006 | 12:06 pm
location: Apple shop , regent street

standing at Apple shop on regent street for free internet. i was so stupid to pay 2 pounds an hour at easy internet yesterday.

Life seems pretty ok now. went to school on monday and found out that the course starts on wed-fri..but this week starts on thursday due to all lecturers getting sick (politically i guess).

got a little bit worked up about course i'm studying as i have found there is another course that is more intensive and doens't require the knowledge as well.

but then again i was thinking 'do i need to do it fast pace?' as my goal is to carry on another 2 year foundation course. and also, i need to work part time to earn some money for next year. Later on, i decide to go home and forget about it.

Charles got myself a job at Market research facility which i start working tomorrow (wednesday) from 5:00 - 11:00 pm. the pay is not bad..8 pounds an hour.

I'm staying at Jat & Angel 's place now. i feel a little bit awkward being there at some point. i know Jat doesn't mind ..even Angel , i know, he doesn't mind either. But somehow, i feel like i'm intruding their privacy. So my working late is good that they could spend their time together without me. did i mention that i sleep on the living room? hahhah

ok..i know life isn't going to be easy anymore... and i'm sure i'm gonna be fine as long as i keep my expectation low. just be patient and work harder.

one day more...another day ..another destiny

Sep. 12th, 2006 | 04:26 pm
music: JUMP- Madonna

One day to go before i fly off to london.  I just decide to blog this to thank you some special people in my life who have helped me make this move happened in the end.

1.  My Taro Card Reader

Sounds a bit stupid...but i have to say it's him to made me this decision.  It's not that i follow what he said.  But he is 'confirmation' of my move.

2.  Aero (my gal friend :)

Words can't be used to describe how fast this friendship has developed.  Knowing you is like life being connected with some part that had been left unfound. and now it's 'back to where it belongs' .  I love you so much..and we surely see each other again soon.

3.  My cousin.

You are the only person i have trusted with all my heart.  my love to you is really unconditional.

4.  Chris.

my sister hahhaha.   thanx for being there when i was down.

4.  Raymond

Thank you for the book 'The alchemist' .  Without this book , i don't think i would never have made it happen.  Your comment is motivating.

5.  Madonna...thank you for the superb song 'Jump'.    it's so inspirational.  And it's so true in your lyric saying..
...
I haven’t got much time to waste, it’s time to make my way
I’m not afraid of what I’ll face, but I’m afraid to stay ...

.....and yes i'm ready to JUMP

and last but not least....

My british friend

without you cheating on me, i would not have opened my eyes and thought about this direction.  I would have just fallen deeper and deeper in this comfort zone of my useless life in bangkok.

I'm going to tell you a secret

Jun. 27th, 2006 | 04:24 pm
location: wherelese could it be? - shitty office
mood: optimistic optimistic
music: Imagine (live) - Madonna

Got Madonna's documentary 'I'm going to tell you a secret' (thanx to Aero).  Watching it last night till 2 am.  Felt moved when she sang 'Imagine'. (though her voice was kinda low and flat .. to conclude..crappy :P).   It is strange cos i didn't feel this way during the concert. ( but i did feel when she sang 'Crazy for you').  I must say it was better than i expected it.   The whole thing got some learning..about life and all.

But that dancer 'cloud'  ....soooo yummy :P

expats suck!

Jun. 21st, 2006 | 03:53 pm
mood: angry angry

This is what you get at the end of the day.

1)  All the work that you've done are not highly appreciated.   It's nothing to do with your performance ..it's just people here has a big latency and high degree of resistance.    Well, it probably will be one day they realise.....maybe in 5 years time.

2) All expats here are purely hypocrites.  They are trying to show false management skill on the surface.  They are open with all advices, and trying to push people to take initiatives.  But in fact THEY ARE NOT.  They still want to be CONTROL Freaks. They actually dislike and get annoyed if we are trying to step in front.   They want us to think they are the best and do what they want us to do.  What a load of bollocks!!!!

Maybe what people said is true about Expat in AP.  They are F.I.L.T.H   (Fail In London , Try Hong kong) .  That is why they need some psychological.

Absurd (Part 2)

Jun. 16th, 2006 | 10:38 am
mood: bitchy bitchy

Since the incident has triggered HRH Anchalee causing lost of her uniqueness, she has enacted a new regulation that from now on no temp staffs will be given email address.

Absurd

Jun. 15th, 2006 | 11:10 am

got to the office and found one email which was quite hilarious but absurd.

Basically, we have one of the top management guys named 'Anchalee'.   Apparently, there is a new person with the same name currently.  So, they are getting worried that people might have been sending email to the wrong person. (cos in Lotus Note, you only type a few characters and it retrieves the close-matched name).

So..here is the way this Big Anchalee dealing with this situation....... (here is her email).

"The temporary staff in Accounting Dept will have another name. IT will send you her new name soon.

Thanks"

(oh yes, she even bold 'have another name' in the email).

I mean..you just can't change people name just because they have the same name as you. did she even think about how caucasians dealing with the names  John...James..Will..Ken..Dorothy..Angela..??? Mental !

So what's gonna happen now??

a)  No more Anchalee of course.
b)  Any Anchalee can't be hired in this office. (this violates discrimination law and equal opportunities)
c)  how about people here are given new name as Non-Anchalee 1, Non-Anchalee2....Non-Anchaleen-1(where n= total number of people in the office)

Long Live the King

Jun. 10th, 2006 | 02:51 pm

A good friend got us in the special place to sight Firework.  It is the navy office by the river.  It was 'By Invitation Only' place.  So we started the journey by taking boat taxi and stopping at one stop after grand palace and it is on the other side of BKK, which is Thonburi side.

On the way by the boat , caught the impressive temple of dawn with dusking sky as backgroup

We carried on the journey by taking a taxi which is about 10 minutes (plus a slight jam and navigating the place).  Then we were walking pass Temple of Dawn entrance which was fully lit up with dark sky.

then we reached the gate of the navy office.  Told the soldier in front that we were the guess of one of the general. After a few walkie talkie, they finally got us in.  The site was superb for watching firework with a little glimpse of Grand Palace at the far end

What we didnt' expect was the firework got fired from the metal boat right infront of us. so the view was magnificent but noisy.

Another picture of Temple of Dawn taken inside of the navy office (right next to the temple) ..this is taken with w800i

here the pain came...after firework , the traffic was tremendously bad. We spent an hour walking to Big Circular where we finally got us the taxi.

On the way , saw one community got flags up ..quite nice

seafood in Cha-am

Jun. 9th, 2006 | 03:35 pm

hmm..i forgot to mention that a couple weeks ago ..i went to Huahin.

With a suggestion with my long lost friend from the college, i decided to stop by Cha-am beach for seafood.

It's not really restaurant that I stopped by.  It's seafood sold by fishermen. Basically, you select what u want and weigh them and cook them the way you want. Yeah, they are alive and yummy.

The sky was so beautiful that day.

here are the seafood hawkers..they are alive in the buckets.

yummy
